Thermoplastic Line Striping

What is Thermoplastic line striping? Thermoplastic Striping is C&C SuperSeal’s recommended road marking service. The thermoplastic material is made up of pigments, binders, and glass beads which help make the stripes reflective and visible during nighttime. Thermoplastic is ideally applied to dry surfaces with an outside temperature above 50°F. The hot thermoplastic is then pre-melted to a temperature of approximately 400°F and applied in its molten state at thicknesses of .040-.125 inches. The heat of the thermoplastic helps it melt into the asphalt and bond quickly; cooling and solidifying within a minute of application. The unique and high-grade properties of thermoplastic are the reason it has dominated the traffic marking industry for years.

The Benefits of Thermoplastic Line Striping

  • Durability – Thermoplastic doesn’t crack, chip, or shatter from impact; Thermoplastic is designed and renowned for its long lasting results due to it’s quality materials and unique bonding process.
  • Longevity – Thermoplastic will outlast regular paint by many types and keep your road markings in good condition for years to come.
  • Cost – Thermoplastic is THE cost-effective solution for your pavement marking needs; it strikes an ideal balance of cost and performance, keeping your budget in check and saving you time. Many states require that higher-volume highways are re-striped up to three times a year with paint, but only every two years with thermoplastic markings.
  • Safety – Thermoplastic’s superior characteristics keep your customers safer from project start to years down the line. Thermoplastic’s durable, long lasting markings have excellent visibility and reflectiveness and Thermoplastic is ready for use almost immediately with no need to block off traffic.
